StrategyHub vs Asana: Which fits your consulting practice?

StrategyHub™ is a strong option for consulting firms delivering strategic planning follow-through, client accountability and ongoing governance. Asana is worth evaluating when the engagement requires flexible work management and coordination across projects and teams.

Both can support execution. The decision is which platform best matches how your firm manages client relationships, measures strategic progress and delivers its ongoing services.

We have not run a hands-on evaluation of Asana; every Asana statement below comes from its own pricing and plans page, and where that page is silent we say so instead of assuming the capability is missing.

Feature comparison

Both products hold plans, owners, dates and progress. The difference is what is supplied versus what you configure, so each row describes the approach and what to check for your own engagements rather than scoring ticks and crosses.

CapabilityStrategyHub™AsanaWhat to evaluate
Strategic planning and executionSupplied objects rather than configuration: goals hold initiatives, initiatives hold nested actions, and KPIs carry baseline, current and target values with owners, units and history. Milestones, risks and wins attach to a goal. Included on every plan.Projects, tasks and subtasks with owners, due dates, custom fields, timeline and Gantt views (Starter and above). Asana Goals — including the goal strategy map, weighted goals, automatic goal progress from linked work, and goal reporting — and unlimited portfolios begin on the Advanced plan.Whether you want a strategy structure supplied out of the box, or prefer to model your own using projects, portfolios and custom fields — and whether the plan you would buy includes Goals.
Managing multiple clientsOne isolated client workspace per client, on every plan: 3 on Solo Consultant, 15 on Practice, unlimited on Enterprise. Each workspace has its own plan, members, KPIs and branding, and nothing crosses between them.Work is organised into teams, projects and portfolios inside your organisation, with private teams and private projects available, plus guest access for outside collaborators. Asana's pricing page lists dedicated workspaces under Enterprise+ compliance-management capabilities. How much separation each client genuinely requires. A private team or project is not administratively the same thing as a separate tenant, so confirm with Asana what isolation your plan gives you before assuming either arrangement fits.
Accountability between reviewsOwners on every goal, initiative, action and KPI; automated due-date and KPI reminders; tokenized update requests so an occasional contributor can submit a value by email without an account; a personal work queue per member.Assignees and due dates on tasks, status updates on projects, portfolios and goals, and Rules-based automation (workflow builder from Starter, Script Actions extending Rules via the Asana API).Neither product creates accountability by itself. Compare who must log in to update what, and whether the people who owe you a number each month are willing to open a tool at all.
KPI and outcome trackingKPIs are native records with baseline, current and target values, units, owners and history, plus scheduled sync from CSV, Google Sheets, BigQuery and Snowflake, a documented REST API and outbound webhooks.Goals track progress against measures and can update automatically from linked projects and tasks; reporting dashboards and charts cover work data. Salesforce, Tableau and Power BI connections are listed on the Advanced plan.Whether the numbers you report are outcome measures held on their own, or roll-ups of task completion. Also whether a measure needs to arrive from a warehouse on a schedule or gets typed in.
Client participation and accessRoles — Admin, Goal Owner, Initiative Owner, Viewer — plus per-goal permissions, so a department lead sees only their scope. Viewers and KPI contributors never change the price, and public read-only dashboards need no account at all.Unlimited free guests are included from the Starter plan, so clients and contractors can collaborate without adding to your licence count. Enterprise adds view-only licences and guest-invitation permissions. Paid plans have no user seat limit; Personal is capped at 2 users.Which client people need to edit and which only need to read. Free guests must not be counted as paid seats in a cost comparison — but check what a guest is allowed to see and do on the plan you would buy.
BrandingWorkspace branding — the firm's logo and colours inside client workspaces and the app shell — from the Practice plan. A custom domain for client dashboards and a custom email sender are Enterprise features. Solo Consultant carries StrategyHub™ branding.Asana's pricing page does not list workspace white labelling, a custom client portal domain or a custom email sender among its plan features. That is an absence of documentation, not evidence the capability is unavailable — confirm any branding requirement with Asana directly.Whether your requirement is a logo on a workspace or a fully branded portal on your own domain with mail from your own address. Those are different products of work and are priced differently.
Reporting and leadership reviewsAI executive summaries and briefing books generated from live plan data and editable before sending; a goal-by-goal printable plan with PDF and PowerPoint export; goal-scoped report books; snapshots; a meeting mode for live reviews.Reporting dashboards and customisable charts from Starter; portfolios and goal reporting from Advanced. Asana AI (AI Teammates and Asana Dash) is included on paid plans at 5 requests per user per month, up to 50 per account (250 on Enterprise); AI Studio credits are metered per billing account (50K Starter, 75K Advanced, 200K Enterprise).Whether you need in-product dashboards or a document you can hand to a board. Also read the AI request and credit limits against how often you would generate narrative summaries.
Pricing modelPer practice, published: a flat plan price with a client-workspace limit. Seats, client staff, board members and viewers do not change the bill, and there is no seat minimum.Per user, published in USD. $10.99 (Starter) and $24.99 (Advanced) per user per month require annual billing; billed monthly the same plans are $13.49 and $30.49. Enterprise and Enterprise+ are quoted. Guests are free.Your actual number of editing users against your number of client workspaces. One firm with three clients and twelve internal editors lands very differently from one with fifteen clients and two.

StrategyHub rows reflect our own product and live plan configuration; Asana rows reflect Asana's published pricing and plans page. Branding is deliberately split: a workspace logo and colour scheme is not the same thing as a fully branded portal on your own domain with your own email sender.

Pricing comparison

Two different units: StrategyHub charges per practice with a client-workspace limit, Asana charges per user. Adjacent plans are not feature-equivalent, so read the limits column before lining prices up against each other.

Published list prices in USD, excluding any applicable tax. StrategyHub figures from strategyhub.io/pricing and our live plan configuration; Asana figures as displayed on asana.com/pricing on 2026-09-15. Confirm current rates and any promotion in Asana's own pricing selector before you buy.

  • Asana's $10.99 and $24.99 per-user rates are annual-billing prices expressed per month, as its pricing page labels them. Month-to-month costs more: $13.49 and $30.49 respectively.
  • Asana AI is included on paid plans within stated request limits, and AI Studio credits are allocated per billing account per month; usage beyond those allowances, and several Enterprise+ compliance items, are separate. Guests are free and do not add to your licence count.
  • StrategyHub prices cover the whole practice. Every plan includes a 14-day trial with no card and a 14-day refund window.

Compare the features your service requires, actual billable users, client-access arrangements, workspace capacity and implementation effort. StrategyHub is not necessarily the least expensive option for every engagement.

When to choose each platform

Consider StrategyHub when

  • Your firm manages ongoing strategy execution for multiple client organisations.
  • Your service includes monthly accountability and quarterly leadership reviews.
  • You want separate client workspaces with plan-specific branding.
  • You prefer practice-level pricing for the applicable client capacity.
  • You want one consistent platform for delivering recurring advisory services.

Consider Asana when

  • Coordinating work across teams and projects is the main requirement: timelines and Gantt views, dependencies, custom fields and reporting dashboards from the Starter plan.
  • You want goals and portfolio oversight inside the same tool as delivery work — Asana Goals, the goal strategy map, weighted goals, automatic goal progress and unlimited portfolios on the Advanced plan.
  • Automation of repeatable process matters: the workflow builder and Rules, extended with Script Actions against the Asana API.
  • You need a broad app ecosystem, or reporting pushed into Salesforce, Tableau or Power BI (Advanced).
  • Many outside collaborators only need free guest access alongside your paid users.

Can they be used together?

Yes, within a defined scope. StrategyHub includes an Asana task sync (a plan feature, alongside Jira and monday.com) that keeps delivery work in Asana while the plan stays in StrategyHub. What it actually does, stated narrowly:

  • Records: a StrategyHub initiative or action maps to one Asana task in a project you choose.
  • Direction: two-way, but not symmetric. Outbound, StrategyHub creates or updates the task's name and notes. Inbound, StrategyHub reads back completion and the task's current section to update status and progress.
  • Timing: pushes happen on save or on demand; inbound updates arrive on a scheduled sync, or sooner if you configure the inbound webhook URL. It is not real-time by default.
  • Setup: an Asana personal access token and the target project, configured by an admin on the Integrations page.
  • Limits: field coverage is deliberately narrow — name, notes, completion and section. Custom fields, attachments, comments, subtask trees and Asana Goals are not synchronised, and KPI values do not come from Asana.

Treat this as a link between two systems of record, not a merge of them. If you need field-level parity, check the specific fields with us before you rely on it.

Common questions

Is StrategyHub an alternative to Asana for consultants?
For the specific job of running strategy execution across several client organisations, yes — StrategyHub supplies client workspaces, goals, initiatives, actions and KPIs as native objects and charges per practice rather than per user. It is not a general replacement for Asana's work management: if your teams also run day-to-day project delivery in Asana, many firms keep both.
Does Asana support strategic goals?
Yes. Asana Goals are a documented feature on its Advanced plan and above, with company, team and individual levels, a goal strategy map, weighted goals, automatic progress from linked work, and goal reporting. Unlimited portfolios also start on Advanced. If Goals matter to you, price Advanced rather than Starter.
Does every client participant require a paid licence?
Not in either product. Asana includes unlimited free guests from the Starter plan, and Enterprise adds view-only licences, so read-only client stakeholders need not consume paid seats — confirm what a guest may see on your plan. In StrategyHub, viewers and KPI contributors are never charged at all, because the price is per practice; public read-only dashboards need no account.
Which platform fits ongoing strategy advisory services?
StrategyHub is built around that pattern: separate client workspaces, per-goal permissions, monthly accountability reminders, and briefing books and executive summaries for quarterly leadership reviews, all at a flat practice price. That does not make it the right answer for every firm — if most of your recurring work is project delivery rather than governance, Asana may cover more of your day.
